Fabloom

Long-form fiction, written in conversation with AI

Let no idea slip away.

Keep writing. Your world holds together.

Stop filling out character sheets and worldbuilding templates before you can start writing. Tell the AI whatever comes to mind, and the characters, world rules, foreshadowing, and timeline events in its replies line up as candidate settings. The app remembers what you accept and passes it to the AI in your next conversation.

Free during the beta period.

Why your writing stalls

  • Blank fields feel like homework. Your hand stops before you write what came to mind.

Ever had your writing stall, or your thinking stop, while filling in worldbuilding fields?

  • You must sort before you think. You cannot write until you decide whether it is a world rule or a term.

Ever been unsure which field a new idea belongs in?

  • Your train of thought breaks. A world idea comes while you are on a character, and you have to switch screens.

Ever lost an idea while switching between screens?

  • The order of the fields dictates your thinking. Ideas arrive in fragments, but forms expect you to fill them top to bottom.

Ever caught yourself filling fields from the top, when you wanted to start somewhere else?

One line, and a world takes shape

Here is how it goes.

  1. 01

    Say what comes to mind

Your setting sheet is still blank.

  2. 02

    Settings line up as candidates

Accept, edit and accept, or pass. You decide.

  3. 03

    Conflicts, caught on the spot

A line that contradicts what you decided is shown next to the original.

The more you talk, the more your world takes shape

Settings, caught automatically

Every time the AI replies, candidates line up: characters, world rules, foreshadowing, timeline events. Accept, edit and accept, or pass — that's all.

Character relationship map

Accepted settings appear on a relationship map, so you can see who's connected to whom as you write.

Foreshadowing and timeline

Track where each clue was planted and where it pays off, with a reminder for any left unresolved. Events line up on a timeline.

Contradiction alerts

When a line contradicts an established fact, you see the passage and the setting side by side. Choose to fix the setting, fix the draft, or keep it as written on purpose.

Illustrations and vertical reading

The AI draws illustrations based on each character's appearance settings. Finished chapters read back as a vertical-text ebook.

No prep needed to start writing

  1. 01

    Talk

Tell the AI whatever comes to mind.

  2. 02

    Get it caught

The app picks out candidate characters and settings from the AI's replies and lines them up.

  3. 03

    Choose

Accept, edit and accept, or pass. You decide.

  4. 04

    Carry it forward

Accepted settings are passed to the AI automatically in your next conversation — no need to explain them again.

  5. 05

    Read it back

Read your finished chapters as a vertical-text ebook.

Frequently asked questions

A little more detail

Will the AI write my novel for me?

You can write by hand, or ask the AI for a draft. The AI's replies and drafts only appear as suggestions; nothing enters your work until you accept it. You can edit a suggestion before accepting it, or pass on it.

What do I need to use it?

A Mac or Windows computer, a Google account to sign in with, and a Claude or ChatGPT plan — either one is enough. Chat, picking up settings and the checker work with either. Images are made with ChatGPT (with Claude only, you can bring in images from your computer). Both run through each provider’s official tool (Claude Code and Codex), which you install on your computer and sign in to.

Can I try it for free?

On ChatGPT's free plan, you can try chat, setting suggestions and the checker (with a smaller allowance, and no images).

I've never installed an AI tool. Is that OK?

Yes. In the app’s settings, under “AI connections”, you can install each official tool (Claude Code for Claude, Codex for ChatGPT) and sign in with a button — no Terminal needed. Each card shows whether it’s ready and what to do next if something is missing.

Does using the AI cost extra?

The AI runs within the Claude and ChatGPT plans you already have. Fabloom doesn't charge separately for AI usage.

Will my writing be used to train AI models?

Fabloom never uses your work for training. Your conversations with the AI go directly from your computer to Claude and ChatGPT, and are handled under each provider's terms.

Where is my data stored?

Your work (manuscript, settings, and images) is stored on Fabloom's servers, tied to your account. A copy also stays on your computer, so you can write offline. If your computer breaks, sign in on another one and keep writing.

Do I need an account?

Yes. You sign in with a Google account. Your work is saved to your account.

Can I write without an internet connection?

Once you have signed in, writing and reading back work offline. Talking with the AI and illustrations need an internet connection. Anything you write offline is sent to the server the next time you connect.

Can I export my novel?

You can export to text or Markdown files, one file per chapter or all in one. Inside the app, you can read your work back as a vertical-text ebook (horizontal is also available), with a cover and table of contents. Exporting to EPUB is planned.

Does it work on phones or tablets?

For now it is an app for computers (Mac and Windows). We will consider a Linux version if people ask for one.

Does it work in languages other than Japanese?

Yes, it works in English too. The app comes in Japanese and English and follows your computer's language (you can also choose in Settings). Each novel can be written in Japanese or English, and the AI, length counts, and story structures follow that language. We'll consider other languages if people ask for them.

When can I start using it?

The Mac and Windows versions are coming, starting with a small group of invited writers. Once things look stable, anyone will be able to download them. We will announce the release in our newsletter.
